Ranveer Singh’s latest action thriller Dhurandhar: The Revenge has taken India by storm. The film opened with huge numbers and crossed Rs 200 crore on box office in just two days.
The movie hit theatres on March 19 after paid previews on March 18. Previews alone brought in Rs 43 crore net in India, beating old records like Stree 2’s Rs 10 crore. Day 1 added Rs 102-103 crore, making the two-day total around Rs 145-146 crore net domestically. Hindi version earned Rs 80 crore on opening day across 19,500 shows.
Worldwide, advances topped Rs 255 crore, with Rs 155 crore from India and Rs 100 crore from overseas. This makes it Bollywood’s biggest opener ever, topping films like Pathaan and Jawan.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, this sequel follows spy Hamza Ali Mazari (Ranveer Singh), aka Jaskirat Singh Rangi. It dives into his revenge after family tragedy in 2000, mixing crime, politics, and action in Karachi. The cast includes Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Sara Arjun.
Critics praise the top-notch action, cinematography, and editing. They call it a “satisfying cinematic experience” and a benchmark for spy thrillers.
Fans rushed to cinemas, as positive word-of-mouth promises a long run. Ranveer’s high-energy role and Dhar’s direction have fans hooked.
