Five rounds were fired outside the Juhu residence of Bollywood director Rohit Shetty in Mumbai late on Sunday night, police said, in what they are treating as an attempted murder case. No one was injured in the incident, but residents in the area reported hearing loud gunshots and seeing a vehicle speeding away from the spot.

Police teams rushed to Shetty’s home in Juhu after receiving calls. They found four bullet casings on the road outside the building and started a probe into who was behind the firing. Officials said initial checks showed the shots were fired from a vehicle that passed by the gate and did not stop.

By Monday morning, the Mumbai Police had arrested four men in connection with the case. Investigators said they were questioning the accused and checking CCTV footage from nearby cameras to piece together the sequence of events. The police have not yet named any motive or confirmed if the director was the specific target.

Shetty, known for action‑comedy films such as the Golmaal and Singham series, was at home at the time but remained unharmed. Local residents said the area, usually quiet in the evenings, saw a heavy police presence through the night.

The incident has raised concerns about security around high‑profile personalities in the city. Police said they are treating the case seriously and will file a detailed report after completing their investigation.
