Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed, linked to the deadly Red Fort car bombing in Delhi, is reportedly assembling a new ‘fidayeen’ (suicide) squad for another potential attack on India and has started raising funds digitally for this purpose. Intelligence sources revealed that Jaish leaders are soliciting contributions of about 20,000 Pakistani rupees (approximately ₹6,400) via an app. This fund drive aims to provide essential supplies like shoes, woollen socks, mattresses, and tents to fighters, and also to enable rapid transfer of funds to active terror cells, such as the 10-member ‘terror doctor’ group believed responsible for the recent Red Fort attack.

The group is also suspected of planning a women-led assault, with its women’s wing, Jamat ul-Muminat, led by Masood Azhar’s sister, Sadiya. One key suspect in the Red Fort blast investigation, Dr. Shahina Saeed, codenamed ‘Madam Surgeon’ and alleged financier, is reportedly part of this unit.

The attack on November 10 saw a Hyundai i20 packed with explosives detonated near the historic Red Fort, killing 15 people. Dr. Umar Mohammad, who died in the blast, drove the vehicle. A self-recorded video of Mohammad surfaced recently, in which he described suicide bombing as “misunderstood.”

Recent intelligence also points to an escalation in Pakistan-backed terrorism activities in Jammu and Kashmir, with groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba mobilizing for coordinated strikes. Both groups are backed by Pakistan’s Army and are differentiated by their leadership styles, operational methods, and indoctrination tactics.
