Shah Rukh Khan, after ruling the Indian Film Industry for more than three decades, finally received his first National Award for his hit movie ‘Jawan’ last evening, on September 24th at the 71st National Film Awards. Actress Prakruti Mishra, who was part of the jury at the ceremony, took to her Instagram and shared some pictures of the moment she met Shah Rukh Khan and called it the most special “handshake” of her life.
Prakruti Mishra, mostly known for her work in Odia film industry and the Hindi television industry, posted some pictures and videos from last night’s event. She wrote in her caption that SRK winning his first national award felt like a personal victory. She also wrote the iconic dialogue from SRK’s award speech in Om Shanti Om. Prakruti even wrote that she hadn’t washed her hands since she shook SRK’s hand.
The caption read, “When I was selected to be a part of the central panel jury for the 71st National Film Awards, I didn’t know that I would be one of the eleven members responsible for Shah Rukh Khan Sir receiving his much-deserved and long-awaited first National Award. Being part of this iconic moment makes me realise that ‘Agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaho toh puri kainaat usse tumse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai.’”
She added, “This victory feels personal because it gives every Indian artist the dream to hope, to strive, and to win! Thank you, Shah Rukh saab, for inspiring us with your humility, hard work, and grace. P.S.: I haven’t washed my hands since the most special ‘handshake’ of my life. Congratulations, Shah Rukh Khan Sir, on your first and most-awaited National Award. The ‘Badshah of Bollywood’ won her first national award in his 33 year long Bollywood career for his lead role in Atlee’s Jawan that was released in 2023. SRK however, shared the award with Vikrant Massey who was awarded for his stellar performance in ‘12th Fail’.
