The Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani honored JCNC Life Benefactor Prem Jain with the 2025 BITS Ratna Award. The award was presented at the institution’s Hyderabad campus during its convention.
BITS Ratna Award is the highest award for a BITS Pilani alumnus to recognize outstanding contribution and services to the institute and its stakeholders and the society at large, resulting in visible impact of the maximum order.
Prem Jain is a serial entrepreneur and a well-known philanthropist.
Giving back to his alma mater, Prem Jain established “Rajkumari Jain chair for Innovation and Entrepreneurship” at BITS Pilani.
Jain is the founding president of the Jain Center of Northern California and a former president of the Federation of Jain Associations in North America, which represents over 200,000 Jains across North America. He has collaborated with various interfaith organizations to organize numerous conferences focused on non-violence (Ahimsa), forgiveness, and compassion in the Bay Area and on Capitol Hill over the past 25 years. Additionally, he is a founding member of the Jain International Trade Organization.
Prem Jain contributed to the University of California and was awarded the CAAA Distinguished Achievement Award and Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award in 2021. He also established the “Prem Chand Jain Family Presidential Chair for Innovation and Entrepreneurship” at the University of California. Additionally, he serves as a Board advisor to the University of California Davis Chancellor’s office.
Prem Jain is a frequent speaker and contributor at many North American and global conferences, representing Jainism to the world at large.
