India issues advisory for Indians amidst violent protest in Nepal

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India this Tuesday, on September 9th, has issued a statement to the Indian nationals that are stuck amidst violent protests going on in Nepal to exercise caution. They have also advised the Indians to adhere to the guidelines issued by the authorities of Nepal.

“We have also taken note that authorities have imposed curfew in Kathmandu and several other cities of Nepal. Indian nationals in Nepal are advised to exercise caution and adhere to the steps and guidelines issued by the Nepali authorities,” Minister of External Affairs said in a statement.

The Ministry also showed their concerns for their neighbor, Nepal who seems to be in the middle of a massive protest. They have asked all the parties to find a way to address the issue through peaceful measures. The ministry also shared their grievances for the loss of young lives and wished for the speedy recovery of those who were injured in the protest.

“As a close friend and neighbour, we hope that all concerned will exercise restraint and address any issues through peaceful means and dialogue,” the ministry said.

“We are closely monitoring the developments in Nepal since yesterday and are deeply saddened by the loss of many young lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased. We also wish speedy recovery for those who were injured,” the statement added.
