In recent days, most of the Indian players reached the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru to participate in the fitness test. However, Virat Kohli was the only active player that didn’t come for the fitness test in Bengaluru and gave his test in London, where he currently resides with his family,
As per the reports that have come out stating that India’s star batter asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for a special permission to take his fitness test back in London. This has led many to believe that this special treatment given to Kohli is bound to invite heavy scrutiny and debate.
Indian cricket stars like Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj and many more have all passed the fitness tests in Bengaluru while Virat passed the tests in London under approved supervision, as per the reports. While many players have given their fitness tests, there are a few players who haven’t undergone the tests due to injury or unavailability.
Here is the list of players who have given their fitness tests (fully or partially) – Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, Shubman Gill, Jitesh Sharma, Prasidh Krishna, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Abhinav Manohar, Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan, Axar Patel, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, Mohammed Shami, Varun Chakravarthy, Mukesh Kumar, Hardik Pandya, Sarfaraz Khan, Tilak Varma, Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Dhruv Jurel, Shardul Thakur, Washington Sundar, and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
As per the reports the fitness tests of star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant will be amongst the players whose tests will be taken this month. This month the BCCI will conduct the phase 2 of the tests this month that will also include stars like KL Rahul, Akash Deep, Nitish Kumar amongst others. The fitness tests include the assessments of the players’ yo-yo test scores and basic strength tests.
