India’s triumph at the Oval in the 5th Test of the Anderson Tendulkar Trophy was one for the ages. On the back of this victory, India managed to draw a series in England (2-2). India head coach Gautam Gambhir was proud of the way his players fought for all the 5 Test matches, he put out a post saying the team will “Never Surrender”.

After India won the match and drew the series, Gambhir, who is known for his mild reaction, seemed happy and satisfied by the performance of his team. He also took to his social media account to applaud the effort put in by his players. He stated that the team might win some matches or lose some matches but would never give up.

Gambhir wrote in a post on X, “We’ll win some, we’ll lose some… but we’ll NEVER surrender! Well done boys!”

When India came out to play on Day 5, the odds were stacked against them with the English team only needing 35 runs with 4 wickets in hand. Many must have lost hope and accepted the defeat but the Indian team was not going out without a fight. Under London’s cloudy sky, Indian pacers – Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna bowled a fiery spell in the nine over period.

The match went close to the wire as Siraj was spitting fire from one end, ripping through the English lower order. And with just 1 wicket left and England one six away from winning it all, Siraj sprinted with full speed and delivered a scintillating yorker dismissing Gus Atkinson and taking India home. Siraj was awarded the Man of the Match for his figure of 9 wickets for 180 runs in 46.3 overs bowled.
