The last test match of the Anderson Tendulkar Trophy is turning out to be a spicy one as there is a lot of chatter around the on-field antics that have been going around. Indian pacer Akash Deep and England’s opener Ben Duckett had a little battle of their own which ended with Akash Deep giving him a highly controversial send-off.

The Assistant Coach of the English team, Marcus Trescothick addressed the friendly banter between the two players. He stated that he had never seen a pacer do that sort of thing after getting a batsman out and believed that there was no need of walking him off like that.

“I was just saying, many in my time, a lot of players, would have just dropped the elbow on him. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bowler do that after getting someone out. You see, he obviously has many words, and we’ve seen it within the series on both sides, but it was just different. You put your head down and walk off. Your job is done at that point. There’s probably no need to sort of walk him off in that fashion,” Trescothick told the media.

After dismissing India for 224, the English openers came out to bat with a plan of attacking Indian bowlers and putting them under pressure. Akash on the other hand was looking in rhythm and was getting the ball to talk as well. But Duckett tried to get under his skin and told the Indian pacer bluntly, “You cannot get me out in here”, and then played a reverse scoop and smashed him for a six.

Duckett continued playing his unorthodox shots and was looking deadly but Akash Deep were also making chances and there was a proper contest going on. His efforts didn’t go in vain as Duckett played the reverse scoop one too many times and got out caught behind playing the shot on Akash Deep’s ball. Akash celebrated in front of the batsman pumping his fist and then proceeded to wrap his arm around his shoulder, smiling and exchanging a few words with Duckett.
