The beloved couple of the Indian badminton circuit, Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap have decided to part ways after nearly 7 years of marriage. The Indian badminton star, Nehwal announced through his official social media account about their separation to her fans.
The couple who tied knots on December 15th in 2018, were one of the most known couples in the sports circuit as both athletes had made India proud on the global level. Nehwal through her Instagram story announced that they were parting ways now. She stated that life sometimes takes you in different directions and they have decided to choose peace, growth, and healing for themselves.
“Life takes us in different directions sometimes. After much thought and consideration, Kashyap Parupalli and I have decided to part ways. We’re choosing peace, growth, and healing – for ourselves and each other. I’m grateful for the memories and wish nothing but the best moving forward. Thank you for understanding and respecting our privacy during this time,” Saina wrote on her Instagram story.
On the other hand, Parupalli Kashyap has not spoken on the matter yet and has chosen to remain silent. Kashyap, however, posted a story on his official instagram account nearly 6 hours before Nehwal posted the story on her account. He could be seen with a group of friends enjoying the Awakenings Festival, a two day festival held from July 11-13 in Hilvarenbeek, Netherlands.
Before getting married both Saina and Kashyap trained together at the Pullela Gopichand academy in Hyderabad. Both athletes were the cream of the crop in their game and made headlines on global level. While Saina made her name with brilliant performances and bronze at the Olympics, Parupalli also grabbed everyone’s attention with a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games 2014.
