Farhan Akhtar’s Don franchise is finally on the cusp of return after 14 years of the release of the second film back in 2011. The filming of the movie is yet to begin but the makers have announced the third installment of the franchise with a new lead star in Ranveer Singh. However, there are new reports that suggest that leads of the previous movies might also be part of the project.

It is being reported that both Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas will be starring in the third installment of the fabled franchise, however there is no clarity regarding the length of their roles. Director Farhan Akhtar has talked to SRK to narrate the script.

“Not much is known about the part. However, Farhan Akhtar reportedly reached out to SRK, and narrated the character and the story around him. While the superstar is busy with King at the moment, given their close association, he’s agreed to do it,” a source reported.

The film is facing delays currently as both the leads of the film Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani have had a lot of things going on. Ranveer had to face a lot of trolling when it was announced that he would be replacing King Khan in the iconic low and thus both him and Farhan decided to lay low.

“Yes, there’s been a delay-but it couldn’t be helped. Ranveer Singh, who replaced Shah Rukh Khan in the franchise, had to deal with a wave of online trolling for ‘daring’ to step into SRK’s shoes. Farhan and Ranveer mutually decided to lie low and let the heat die down,” an insider informed.

Along with that the lead actress Kiara Advani got pregnant which delayed the movie project a bit more. Farhan, the director of the film also had his acting schedule for his upcoming movie 120 Bahadur which is all set to release in November this year.
