In a heartwarming gesture, playback singer Arijit Singh surprised fans with a live virtual performance at the much-anticipated music launch of ‘Metro In Dino’ in Mumbai on Tuesday. Unable to attend the event in person, Singh connected with the audience via FaceTime, offering an impromptu musical treat that left the crowd cheering.

The moment was set in motion when music composer Pritam dialed Singh during the event. As soon as the singer answered, he apologized for his absence, but the disappointment quickly turned to delight as he launched into a rendition of one of the film’s songs. The spontaneous performance, captured on video and shared widely on social media, showcased Singh’s signature soulful voice and endeared him further to fans.

‘Metro In Dino,’ directed by Anurag Basu and produced by T-Series Films, is scheduled to hit theatres on July 4, 2025. The film features an ensemble cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, Konkona Sensharma, Anupam Kher, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, and Saswata Chatterjee.

Aditya Roy Kapur, paired opposite Sara Ali Khan, also made waves at the event by performing his song ‘Ishq Hai Ya Tharak,’ marking his official singing debut. Kapur, who previously made a mark as an actor in ‘Aashiqui 2,’ spoke candidly about his experience. “I have sung before for my friends, but this is my official debut as a singer,” he said. “The decision to sing happened naturally due to the musical format of the film”.

Arijit Singh has lent his voice to several tracks in the film, including ‘Zamaana Lage,’ ‘Aur Mohabbat Kitni Karoon,’ and ‘Mausam.’ These songs, already released as singles, have garnered significant attention and anticipation for the film’s soundtrack.

The music launch event was a star-studded affair, attended by the film’s cast and crew, as well as other singers and musicians. The blend of live and virtual performances created a unique atmosphere, highlighting the evolving landscape of Bollywood events in the digital age.
