The recent conflicts between Iran and Israel have caused a surge in geopolitical tensions in the world. While major world powers like Russia, China and the United States have got involved in the ongoing conflict, India has reiterated its stand that it wants immediate de-escalation of the situation. The President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian has thanked India for its stance in the current situation.
Iran’s President stated that they are thankful to PM Modi for India’s stance in the current situation. Pezeshkian emphasized that India’s position and voice was very important in restoration of world peace and stability.
PM Modi took to his official X handle to state India’s stance on the currently raging tensions between Israel and Iran. He stated that he had called for an immediate de-escalation of the situation. He also made it clear that he thinks diplomacy is the way to go for the establishment of peace, security and stability.
“We discussed in detail about the current situation…Reiterated our call for immediate de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward and for early restoration of regional peace, security and stability.” Modi said in a post on X.
As suggested by the Iranian readout, President Pezeshkian had seriously condemned the actions of the United States, who interfered in their conflict against Israel. He put it in clear words that the world has been witness to something worrying and totally unacceptable. He also highlighted that the claims of peace and human rights by the US are nothing but hoaxes to be good in the public eye.
The President said, “A country that is pursuing peaceful nuclear activities within the framework of international regulations, especially under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency, becomes the target of attack by the US and Israel. This action shows that all their claims about peace, democracy, human rights and commitment to international norms are nothing but slogans and deception of public opinion.”
