Upavan Pavan Jain, a key accused of the multi-crore cheating and forgery case which was registered in Gujarat, was brought back to India on Friday, June 20th after being deported from Dubai. The Central Bureau of Investigation successfully carried out the operation with the help of INTERPOL and the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) law enforcement departments.

Upavan Pavan Jain was handed over to India after the National Central Bureau (NCB) of Abu Dhabi, UAE collaborated with the International Police Cooperation Unit (IPCU) to ensure it. The accused was a Red Notice subject and was wanted by the Gujarat police for a while now. As per the reports, the location of the Red Notice subject was found by the CBI with the help of continuous efforts from the INTERPOL and constant support of Abu Dhabi’s NCB.

As per the reports, the accused Upavan Pavan Jain had committed a fraud of Rs. 3,66,73,000 with his co-accused as they forged documents and defrauded the complainants. Upavan used to work as a real estate agent where he took the complainant to show four different properties. He convinced them to buy all those properties through him.

Pavan then found different people who worked with him to pose as the owners of these properties and met the complainants assuming false identities. These people then opened bank accounts in the name of the real owners of those properties on the basis of forged identification documents. They then used this fraudulent scheme to rob the complainant of Rs. 3.6 crores in total.

Upavan Pavan Singh has been escaping the police department for more than a year. The Gujarat police requested for a Red Notice issue against Jain through INTERPOL. After he was arrested in the UAE, the government of India submitted an extradition request through the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
