Diljit Dosanjh and Imtiaz Ali are coming together once again after delivering a hit back last year in the name of Amar Singh Chamkila. It is being reported that the two of them will be reuniting for a film but the name is not yet finalised. Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina, and Sharvari will be some of the names leading the film alongside Diljit Dosanjh.
The reports state that Imtiaz Ali is looking to make a comeback on the big screens and has locked in a Baisakhi release in 2026. The film starring Dosanjh is supposed to be a charming tale of love and longing, a genre that Imtiaz has mastered. The movie’s storyline will be focusing on the love story of a boy and girl but will also involve a country in it.
The makers of the film shared a note stating the ground base of the movie. The note read, “This film has a big heart. It has a large canvas, yet is very personal. It is a story of a boy and a girl, but also a country. Wish us well as we dive into the currents of this dynamic story, we hope to emerge next year with a touching cinematic experience in a theatre near you.”
Through this film we will also be seeing an incredible trio reunite who have given Bollywood a few of its best music albums. AR Rahman, Irshad Kamil, and Imtiaz Ali will all be joining hands after the success of their previous unforgettable projects like Highway (2014), Tamasha (2015) and Amar Singh Chamkila (2024).
This is not the only project that is lined up for Imtiaz Ali in the coming future. The Jab We Met famed director is also currently working on Netflix’s series O Saathi Re with Avinash Tiwary and Aditi Rao Hydari. He is also currently occupied with Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil for The Idiot In Istanbul.
