Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in Jammu and Kashmir to inaugurate the world’s highest rail bridge over the River Chenab. He was also there to inaugurate India’s first cable-stayed bridge, Anji. While addressing the audience Modi blasted Pakistan for supporting as well as spreading terrorism in India.

Modi was addressing the crowd present at the event and stated that through the terrorist attacks, Pakistan was just trying to cause chaos in India. They were planning just to start communal riots in India. He said, “The intent of Pakistan was to trigger communal riots in India. It wanted to strip people of Kashmir of their earnings, that’s why Pakistan attacked tourism.”

PM Modi emphasized that the tourism in the valley of Kashmir was increasing ten fold in these past years and that didn’t sit well with Pakistan. They couldn’t see the valley grow and prosper that is why they attacked the tourists who are the heartbeats of Kashmir’s economy.

He stated, “Tourism was increasing during the last five years in Jammu and Kashmir, and tourists were arriving in record numbers. Pakistan wanted to destroy the livelihoods of guides, pony operators, guest house owners, shop owners, and roadside dhaba operators who are dependent on tourism.”

The Prime Minister also mentioned Adil, who was a pony operator in Pahalgam and stood up against the terrorists when they attacked tourists in the valley. Modi stated that Pakistan is targeting the poor people of the valley and have struck on their livelihood. He said the neighboring country not only challenged their humanity but also questioned their ‘Kashmiriyat’.

“Adil, who challenged the terrorists, was also there to earn his livelihood. Not only that, Pakistan is also the enemy of the poor’s bread and butter. What happened on April 22 in Pahalgam is an example of that. Pakistan attacked ‘Insaniyat’ and ‘Kashmiriyat’ in Pahalgam,” Modi added.

The prime minister also inaugurated Vande Bharat train service that will run from Katra to Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. This will be the first train connection between the Kashmir valley and the Jammu region.
