The tragic incident at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium at Bangalore has shook everyone. Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s management is being scrutinised for announcing the parade through their social media account just hours before the stampede. Along with the management of the franchise, the members of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) will also be facing trouble over mismanagement of the facilitation ceremony.

RCB won their first Indian Premier League title after waiting for 18 years and the franchise decided they will be organising a victory parade and celebration. However, the team did not realise that their celebration would turn out to be a horrifying disaster resulting in the loss of 11 innocent lives while 47 people were injured.

The RCB management posted a message on their social media inviting fans to join their victory parade. The management requested all the fans to follow the guidelines and try enjoying the parade peacefully.

“RCB Victory Parade: Today at 5 pm IST. The Victory Parade will be followed by celebrations at the Chinnaswamy stadium. We request all fans to follow guidelines set by police and other authorities so that everyone can enjoy the roadshow peacefully. Free passes (limited entry) available on shop.royalchallengers.com,” the post read.

The parade was supposed to start from the Vidhana Soudha and would end up in the Chinnaswamy Stadium where the team was supposed to have a felicitation event. It was reported that the only communication RCB had before June 4 was through KSCA on June 3. The KSCA sent a letter to seek permission to host a felicitation event at the Vidhana Soudha. But this information directly contradicted the Karnataka government’s claims that the event was planned at the last minute.

RCB management posted their condolences on the tragic stampede through their official social media account. The post read, “RCB mourns the tragic loss of lives and extends our heartfelt condolences to the affected families. Immediately upon being made aware of the situation, we promptly amended our program and followed the guidance and advice of the local administration.”
