It can be said that the Royal Challengers Bengaluru have come against all odds to win their first championship as they have broken the infamous ‘Drake Curse’ last night. RCB defeated Punjab Kings last night to secure their first title in the history of the Indian Premier League.

The Bengaluru team started the game as heavy underdogs and that’s when the Canadian rapper, Drake who is infamous for his bets decided to bet on them. Drake placed a humongous bet of 750,000 dollars (approximately Rs 6.4 crore) when the odds were 1.75. Drake gambled with his luck and turned it into a fortune as he made around Rs. 11 crore which is approximately $1.3 million.

This victory from Rajat Patidar’s Bengaluru also defied the odds and broke the infamous ‘Drake Curse’. The curse was set in when the Canadian rapper went through a phase in which every big sporting event he used to bet on wouldn’t go his way.

He placed bets on Serena Williams who was on a hot streak but lost. He placed a bet on Conor McGregor who lost as well. Teams like Manchester City and the Toronto Raptors (pre-2019) lost after he placed bets on them. But now it seems that RCB has finally managed to break the curse of the famous rapper and also help him make some money.

The IPL final however didn’t turn out that well for a very famous Punjabi Singer, Rapper and Lyricist, Karan Aujla who placed a bet of Rs. 3.1 crore on the Punjab Kings. The artist had a major loss as Kings had a disappointing loss in the finals after playing really well throughout the tournament.

RCB broke the shackles last night as they defeated PBKS by 6 runs in a thrilling encounter that gave the league their new champions. Virat Kohli who has been with the team from the start of the league finally got his first and well-deserved championship.
