The 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has taken the Indian Premier League by storm. It was already surprising seeing such a young talent being part of IPL but watching the young savant smash bowlers of international calibre all around the ground with ease was majestic for everyone. While Vaibhav was being praised by everyone, probably his greatest honor came when he met the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.

On Friday, May 30th, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and his parents had the honor of meeting the Prime Minister outside the Patna Airport. The teenage sensation showed the values that he had been raised on and touched his feet to seek blessing from the PM. PM Modi posted a few pictures with the young cricketer and his family on his official X handle.

PM Modi in his post on X wrote, “At Patna airport, met the young cricketing sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi and his family. His cricketing skills are being admired all over the nation! My best wishes to him for his future endeavours.”

The PM has not failed to mention how impressed he was of Suryavanshi when he smashed his first IPL century becoming the youngest batter ever to achieve this feat. While he was addressing the nation through Man Ki Baat, Modi said, “I have seen in the IPL, the son of Bihar, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s spectacular performance. At such a young age, Vaibhav has set such a great record. There is a lot of hard work behind Vaibhav’s performance.”

He added, “To bring his talent to the forefront, he has played many matches at different levels. The more you play, the more you will shine. Competing in matches and competitions as much as possible is very important. The NDA government has always given it the highest priority in its policies.”

Suryavanshi made his debut this season for the Rajasthan Royals, becoming the youngest player to ever play in the IPL. He impressed everyone with his flamboyant batting as he thrashed the bowlers left right and centre and ended the season with the highest strike rate in the league of 207. In the seven matches played, Vaibhav made 252 runs with a century and a half-century.
