After the conflict with Pakistan has settled a bit, the people of India have made their stance clear that they are going to boycott companies and products from countries like Turkey and Azerbaijan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was visiting his home state of Gujarat for the first time after Operation Sindoor was addressing the audience in Gandhinagar. He asked the public to shift more towards local products and depend less on the products that are not manufactured in India.
PM Modi insisted that he aims to make India a developed nation and the third largest economy in the world by the end of 2047. Along with that the Prime Minister also emphasized that he would need the collective support of the public to ensure the development of the country.
He said, “We must not use foreign goods (and promote domestically made products). Businessmen should avoid selling foreign products no matter how profitable it is.”
PM Modi also emphasized to support more campaigns like ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP) which can provide a major boost to the economy. He said that he plans to make Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities as epicentres of economic growth and activity.
The Prime Minister explained that the Government of India has planned the ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ initiative which will mark as a milestone of India becoming a developed nation in its centenary year of independence. According to the government, the initiative prioritises inclusive economic growth, social equity, environmental sustainability, and strong governance, laying the foundation for a prosperous and resilient India.
Turkey, who supported Pakistan in the conflict and provided them with drones that attacked India, faced a huge backlash by the Indian public. The general public perceived it as a backstabbing move by the Turkish government as India supported them when they were hit by an earthquake.
After their move of supporting Pakistan, Indians have cancelled their travel visas to Turkey and have started boycotting their companies and goods. Indian tour operators have withdrawn promotional packages to the country. The ground-handling license of Turkish company Celebi at Indian airports has also been withdrawn.
