Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Vadodara in his home state of Gujarat for the first time after Operation Sindoor on Monday. He was welcomed by the locals who came in huge numbers to show their love and support to their leader. What grabbed the headlines of everyone in all that was the appearance of the family of Colonel Sofiya Qureshi who became the face of Operation Sindoor after she spearheaded the press conference alongside Wing Commander Vyomika Singh.

PM Modi arrived at the Vadodara airport earlier this morning and from there he held a one kilometer long roadshow from the airport to the Air Force Station. The roadshow saw a huge crowd gathering who chanted ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ while showering flowers at the honorable PM.

Amidst that crowd, stood the family members of national hero Colonel Qureshi, including her parents Taj Mohammad Qureshi and Halima Qureshi, her twin sister Shyna Sunsara, and brother Sanjay Qureshi. Her sister Shyna also spoke to the media and said how proud she feels that the Prime Minister stands with the citizens of the nation.

While speaking to the media, Ms. Sunsara said, “It is a matter of pride that our Prime Minister always stands in the front and gives assurance to the people of the country that he is always with us. It was a very different moment. I cannot express it in words. It felt as if he was giving a message to the world that we are standing with you all, and no one needs to be scared.”

Ms Sunsara also reflected on how proud she feels of her sister Sofiya Qureshi who is her twin sister and was born just 15 mins after her. She also said that she is not only her sister now but the sister of the whole country. Col. Qureshi’s brother Sanjay Qureshi also spoke to the media and expressed the pleasure he felt after meeting PM Modi.

While speaking about his sister, he said, “I thank our defence forces and the Government of India, which gave this chance to my sister. A woman taking revenge for the suffering of other women – what can be better than this? Our forces proved to the enemy that women are no less than men.”
