Award-winning visual artist Medha Atre-Kulkarni invites you to experience Nostalgic India, a deeply personal solo exhibition celebrating the rich tapestry of Indian culture through the lens of memory and longing. Coinciding with AAPI Heritage Month, this exhibit presents a curated collection of India-inspired paintings lovingly created over the span of 26 years in the United States.
“These paintings are a bittersweet poetry of nostalgia and emotion—a homage to the India I carry in my heart,” says Medha. “Having grown up surrounded by the diverse beauty, colors, and rhythms of India, these memories have become the wellspring of my creativity. Though I now call the U.S. home, India remains an inseparable part of my soul—and this show is a tribute to that eternal bond.”
Nostalgic India offers viewers a poignant and vivid glimpse into the artist’s inner world, echoing the universal immigrant experience—the quiet tug of homeland memories that surface in unexpected ways. Through vibrant watercolors, oils, and acrylics, Medha invites audiences to walk alongside her down memory lane.
