The health fair which was organized on Sunday, May 18, 2025, by Health Camp of NJ (HCNJ) in collaboration with RWJ Barnabas Health – Hamilton was a resounding success. Held at the RWJ Fitness & Wellness Center in Hamilton, NJ, the event drew community members for a day focused on accessible healthcare, education, and wellness.

The fair offered free health screenings, consultations, and educational resources, reaffirming both organizations’ commitment to improving public health outcomes. Services included blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, hemoglobin A1c and thyroid screenings, along with other basic blood tests provided by LabCorp and RWJ Hamilton, physical therapy and balance screening, pharmacy counseling and medication management and many other services. Attendees benefited from consultations with healthcare professionals across various specialties, receiving both high-quality screenings and personalized guidance.  The volunteers from the Rotary Club of Hamilton/Robbinsville, SHINE, SEWA and other groups and individuals provided their service at the health fair.

In addition to medical screenings, the fair featured targeted initiatives aimed at addressing key health concerns in the South Asian community, including cancer prevention, mental health awareness, and stroke education. Participating organizations included NJ CEED, Trenton Health Team, SATHI – Rutgers, NJ Health Study, SAMHIN for mental health, Project BEST for eye screenings, and CARE (Collaborative Approach for Research and Education).  The event also highlighted chronic disease prevention, offered resources for underserved populations, and provided information on affordable healthcare options and insurance enrollment assistance.  Community feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many attendees expressing gratitude for the opportunity to access free, high-quality healthcare services. Participants also emphasized how the event helped raise awareness about their health and available community resources.  Health Camp of NJ and RWJ Hamilton plan to continue this impactful collaboration with future health fairs and expanded services—further strengthening their shared mission to deliver community-centered, culturally sensitive healthcare solutions.

The next health fair of 2025 will be on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Umiya Dham Temple in Edison, NJ.  Over the past 25+ years, HCNJ has screened more than 13,500 individuals and identified over 4,000 cases of chronic disease abnormalities. The organization marked its 25th Anniversary Gala in November 2023, announcing an ambitious goal to launch a Community Health Center by 2026 to provide ongoing care and follow-up services for underserved populations.
