Foxconn’s Devanahalli plant to begin iPhone shipments from June

India has reached another manufacturing milestone as M B Patil, Karnataka’s Minister of Commerce and Industries, announced the great news on Saturday. He revealed that the Taiwanese electronics manufacturing giant Foxconn’s unit at the Information Technology Investment Region of Devanahalli in Bangalore is preparing to launch and begin commercial iPhone shipments from as early as June.

This development will strengthen the position of Karnataka in the global manufacturing markets and will open the door for growth in foreign investments in the India, without compromising the stakeholders.

Minister M B Patil took to his social media and wrote, “This isn’t just a manufacturing milestone, it marks a strategic shift. With rising geopolitical and tariff pressures, India is fast becoming Apple’s preferred production hub.”

The Commerce and Industries Minister also emphasized on how proud he feels seeing the state grow. He also mentioned how honored he feels to hear the name of Karnataka being mentioned globally among the world leaders. He said, “As a Kannadiga, this is a proud moment. From Mysore to Cupertino, Karnataka is making global headlines.” He added that Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook has also given confirmation that for the June quarter, the iPhones sold in the US will be majorly the ones manufactured in India.

The Taiwanese brand Foxconn is Apple’s contractual manufacturer in India. The company has bought around 300 acres of land in the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) located in Doddaballapur and Devanahalli Taluk of Bangalore Rural District.

It was earlier mentioned by the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah during 2025-26 budget that a capital investment of Rs 21,911 crore has been made by Foxconn company in starting a phone manufacturing plant in Devanahalli Industrial Area. He had also mentioned that the state government will be providing them with an incentive of Rs. 6,790 Crore by Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM).
