Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is set to make his comeback to the big screens after three years of hiatus. Amir Khan’s film, Sitaare Zameen Par had its trailer launch on Tuesday, 13th May. But rather than the trailer launch, a post by the production house of Amir Khan has had the social media buzzing.
The controversy sparked when Aamir Khan Productions Pvt Ltd, posted a message on its social media handle, congratulating the Indian Army on a successful Operation Sindoor. The post caught the attention of many as they raised their brows at the weird timing of the post. Although Operation Sindoor was carried out days before, the production house remained silent on that matter. But according to public perception, now that their trailer has been released they have posted about the operation just as a way to get attention.
Aamir Khan Productions wrote in the note, “Saluting the heroes of Operation Sindoor. Heartfelt gratitude to our armed forces for their courage, bravery and unwavering commitment to the security of our nation. Thank you to the Hon’ble Prime Minister for his leadership and resolve.”
The comment rubbed a lot of people the wrong way considering the timing of the comment. The production house maintained silence when the operation was going and tensions were high just to congratulate the armed forces after the dust settled and their trailer promotion was in full force. People on social media shamed the production house for their late response.
One person replied to the post, “Nice strategy to promote your movie, a day before the trailer release, posted about Operation Sindoor to gain sympathy. All these days you had no spine to speak up, shame on you.”
While another had some harsh comments and wrote, “Yaad agaya? (You Remembered?) Make sure this movie never sees the light that he wants this movie to see. We are bloody done with these monsters!!!!! Don’t fall for them again, don’t let them rob you off your nationalism when they themselves have NONE.”
