Samsung has launched the new Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge today in all the global markets including India. The Galaxy S25 Edge is the slimmest flagship smartphone that the company has launched till now. It is the fourth model in the Galaxy S25 series joining the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25.
The phone is launched to target the younger demographic for people in their 20s to 30s. The company officials said that they believe the younger audience prefers a phone that is light and easy to carry and that is why they are launching this model. The company has made specific changes to reduce the size and weight of the product. They have removed various components internally and have also introduced a printed circuit along with thermal systems.
Samsung, while talking about the new phone, said, “The feedback was clear – users wanted something slimmer and easier to carry without sacrificing performance.”
The Galaxy S25 Edge has retained all its AI features from its series counterparts. The phone also offers a 6.7 inches QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2x display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 2,600 nits peak brightness. Doing justice to its slimmest phone marketing, the phone has a 5.8mm profile and weighs around 163 grams.
The phone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 at the front and Victus 2 at back. It also has a great IP68 rating and is equipped with a 3900 mAh battery which will be able to support 25 W wired charging and 15 W wireless charging. The device also supports an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor along with 12 GB RAM and up to 512 GB storage.
Analysts around the world are speculating about the timing of the launch of the product as it is being said that the smartphone was launched to one up Apple as they are trying to bring out a slimmer version of the iPhone this year. This can be considered a smart move by Samsung to lure customers to their product before the rival brand launches their product.
