The media world is buzzing as the 78th Cannes Film Festival is just around the corner. The film festival is set to start from 13th May 2025 and will go on till 24 May 2025. Celebrities from all around the world are ready to make their mark on the French Riviera. Many Bollywood celebrities are ready to walk the red carpet at the Film Festival and add to its already glorious star power.
The theme of this year’s Cannes Film Festival is Lights, Beauty and Action. The theme is a great way to stand with the philosophy that empowers confidence, self-worth and a belief that everyone is inherently deserving.
This year, many Indian celebrities will be attending the Cannes Film Festival and gracing the event with their presence. The leading lady of Bollywood from the past Sharmila Tagore is all set to attend the event as her film Aranyer Din Ratri’s 4K restored version will be shown at the festival. The film was directed by the icon of Indian cinema, Satyajit Ray.
Another familiar face that will grace the event with her presence is the former Miss World, Aishwarya Rai. The famous Bollywood actress has been attending the event for the past two decades and will be walking the red carpet again this year. Unlike Aishwarya, Alia Bhatt has never attended a film festival before and will be making her debut this year.
The Grand Prix award-winning filmmaker, Payal Kapadia is going to make a comeback in the Cannes Festival and will be part of the esteemed Festival de Cannes jury panel this year. Bollywood stars Ishan Khattar and Jahanvi Kapoor will also be seen on the red carpet as their film “Homebound” will be making its global premier. Along with them the producer Karan Johar and director of the film Neeraj Gahwyn will be attending the Film Festival as well.
This year the higher authorities of the film festival have also announced a new dress code which prohibits nudity on the red carpet or any parts of the event to maintain proper decency at the event. Cannes has always been strict on its dress code but this time the strictness has been notched up a bit. They have also prohibited any voluminous outfits to maintain a proper flow of traffic on the red carpet.
