As the summer season is back all the mango lovers have a chance to rejoice again. It is being reported that this year is going to be a great one for all mango lovers as the yields are higher for the year 2025. This comes as a big relief for the lovers of the golden fruit as last year the mango supplies were disrupted due to heatwaves and high temperatures that impacted the yields.
The mango yields this year have been much higher according to the data collected through Agmarknet, which is a government portal that collects and disseminates market information on agricultural produce in wholesale markets. The supply of mangoes in April 2025 has been 70% higher when compared to the supplies last year during the same time.
It is also to be noted that the median mango prices have been higher in the month of April 2025 when compared to its prices in April 2024. The prices this year have reached up to Rs 8,063, compared to Rs 5,489 last year, according to Agmarknet. However, it is to be kept in mind that prices of different varieties of mango differ from each other as some varieties like Alphonso are premium fruits and are expensively priced.
The heatwaves have impacted the yields less this year and the temperatures have been a bit kinder to the farmers. The farmers have also adapted better to the conditions and are producing better yields. As the farmers have agreed that flowering has been completed and biddings are in process, it is highly unlikely that unseasonal rains will harm the production further. The distributors have also spaced out their supplies across the states. While the supplies in Maharashtra have been a bit short in May, Karnataka has had abundant supplies which are expected to last till the middle of June.
