It is not a hidden fact that India has now become one of the fastest growing markets for consumer goods. This fact was confirmed when a top official from Google Cloud highlighted that India’s surging consumer market and its global builder economy have made it one of the fastest-growing and most strategically significant markets for Google Cloud.
The Vice President and Country Managing Director for Google Cloud, Bikram Singh Bedi has admitted that India is now a high-focus market for the organization. Bedi said, “We view India as a market with two dimensions. The first dimension is about the scale at which we operate, you don’t find too many countries at this scale. There is a second dimension to India… as a builder’s economy. India builds for the world, and at Google Cloud, we work very closely with a number of companies to build for the world… it (India) clearly is a very important market for us and one of the fastest growing markets for Google Cloud.”
It has also been reported that Google Cloud is also looking forward to working with the government on the IndiaAI Mission and is working out ways so that they can collaborate with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Bedi also stated, “One of the reasons we set up the Delhi region was to service public sector needs. The next phase is the AI mission opportunity, where we are closely working with the government.”
Google Cloud has two cloud regions, one in Mumbai and the other in Delhi, through which the company operates. These centers are certified by the ministry as they support various clients operating in sectors like financial services, healthcare, ecommerce, and telecommunications.
