HCNJ to host Annual Health Fair at Umiya Dham Temple in Edison on June 15

Health Camp of New Jersey (HCNJ), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, will host its annual Health Fair on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at the Umiya Dham Temple, 1697 Oak Tree Road, Edison, NJ 08820. The event will provide comprehensive medical, dental, mental health, and vision screenings, along with disease prevention education and counseling for hundreds of uninsured and underinsured participants. Since 1999, HCNJ has organized this vital health fair to benefit underserved members of the South Asian and broader community. The event is held in collaboration with Shree Umiya Parivar of USA and Karuna Seva and supported by numerous healthcare providers and volunteer organizations.

Participants must pre-register online no later than Monday, June 9, 2025 to take advantage of the free services, which include:

Blood tests including hemoglobin A1c for diabetes, cardiogram, vision screening for glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, physical examination and cardiology evaluation, various types of cancer screening and prevention education, chronic disease screenings for hypertension, diabetes and cardiovascular conditions, physical therapy, women’s health screenings, pharmacy and dietary counseling, alternative therapy and access-to-care resources will be provided at the health fair. Volunteers including physicians, dentists, nurses, physical therapists, podiatrist, dentist, specialists in cardiology, oncology, neurology, hematology, medical assistants, social workers, and medical students from various institutions will be on-site to deliver these crucial services. Partner organizations include LabCorp, NJ Commission for the Blind, New Jersey Department of Health, Rutgers Medical School, and several local community groups.

Over the past 26 years, HCNJ has screened more than 13,500 individuals and identified over 4,000 cases of chronic disease abnormalities. The organization marked its 25th Anniversary Gala in November 2023, announcing an ambitious goal to launch a Community Health Center by 2026 to provide ongoing care and follow-up services for underserved populations in New Jersey.
