In a major boost for India’s entertainment and tourism sectors, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has inked a landmark agreement with CreativeLand Asia (CLA) to build the country’s first Transmedia Entertainment City, aptly named ‘Creatorland.’ The ambitious project, announced at the WAVES Summit in Mumbai, is set to transform Andhra Pradesh into a global hub for immersive entertainment, digital content creation, and tourism.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of state Tourism and Entertainment Minister Kandula Durgesh, CEO of Tourism Amrapali Kata, and Sajan Raj Kurup, Founder of Creativeland Studios Entertainment. The unveiling was attended by a global advisory board featuring leading figures from the international entertainment industry.
Creatorland is envisioned as a sprawling entertainment ecosystem, featuring world-class theme parks, advanced gaming zones, esports arenas, and international cinema co-production facilities. A highlight of the development will be a Virtual Studio Complex equipped with cutting-edge AI-based real-time rendering and volumetric capture technologies. The project is expected to attract investments between Rs 8,000–10,000 crore over the next five to six years.
The initiative also includes the establishment of Creatorland Academy, designed to skill over 10,000 youth annually in VFX, AI, gaming, and immersive storytelling. The project aims to generate more than 150,000 jobs across entertainment, technology, and tourism sectors, significantly boosting the local economy.
With discussions underway with over 20 international studios, Creatorland aims to position Andhra Pradesh as a central platform for cross-border collaboration, generative AI-driven content, and world-class digital production, setting new benchmarks for India’s creative industries.
