Delhi Capitals spinner (DC) Kuldeep Yadav has been wired in a controversy after he was seen hitting Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) Rinku Singh post the IPL 2025 match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Th incident occurred in front of the IPL chairman and Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Shukla, a video of which has been doing the rounds on social media ever since.

After KKR defeated DC with a narrow 14-run gap, Singh was seen exchanging a light-hearted moment with Yadav on the fields. What followed was an abrupt slap to Singh by Yadav, leaving the KKR batter stunned. After having a few words, Yadav again slapped Singh and this time the cricketer appeared furious.

The netizens too seemed unhappy with Yadav and called out the Delhi Capitals spinner for his “unacceptable act”. The user on X wrote, “Just saw this video. Even if it’s fun or banter, it’s not an acceptable behaviour. Don’t forget that it’s a workplace. And this kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable at a workplace. I request @BCCI @IPL to take action against Kuldeep Yadav.

It should be noted that BCCI has had recently had fined the Lucknow Super Giants’ Digvesh Rathi twice in the IPL 2025 for his controversial “notebook” celebration. He was initially fined 25 percent of his match fee and received one demerit point for his first offense against Punjab Kings. After repeating the celebration in the following match against Mumbai Indians, he was fined 50 percent of his match fee and given two demerit points

In the meanwhile, KKR has issued a clarification on what transpired between Rinku Singh and Kuldeep Yadav with a fresh video shared on their official social media handles. KKR used a witty caption to douse all the reports that projected a rift between the two players. KKR posted on X, “”Media (𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘪) vs (𝘥𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘯 𝘬𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘤𝘩 𝘬𝘢) Reality! 𝘎𝘦𝘩𝘳𝘪 𝘥𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘪 feat. our talented UP boys.”
