MI shines against LSG with Yadav scripting IPL history

Mumbai Indians (MI) continued with its winning streak on Sunday by registering its fifth victory in a match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the ongoing season of IPL 2025.

MI also recorded a feat of winning 150matches out of a total of 271 which is followed by MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK), having won 140 matches after playing a total of 248 in the competition. The match held at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, saw another record being in etched in the IPL history with MI batter Suryakumar Yadav becoming the fastest Indian to score 4000 runs.

Yadav achieved the landmark in just 2705 balls, maintaining a strike rate of 147.87 leading him to sit on the third place overall on the all-time list. He is preceded by the legendary Chris Gayle (2653 balls) and AB de Villiers (2658 balls).

Talking about the match, MI slammed a massive 215/7 and won by a margin of 54 runs. Apart from Yadav, the match was lit by other amazing performers including the right-arm seamer Jasprit Bumrah. who went for an amazing 4-wicket haul along with a three-wicket strike by Trent Boult. It was complemented by impactful fifties from Ryan Rickelton (58) and Suryakumar Yadav (54). While chasing, MI bowled out LSG for 161.
