On Sunday, 16th February, 2025, 300 members of United Senior Pariwar, Chicago celebrated Maha Shivratri , Valentine’s Day along with a Heath Seminar By Dr. Ashish Patel. in Swaminarayan Mandir, Wheeling, IL. Mrs. Jyotsna Chokshi sang Prarthna and Shiv Struti with all members.
Deep pragtya performed by Dr. Ashish Patel and President Shree Ramesh Chokshi, Shloka chanting by Vice President Prof. Shree Rohit Joshi. Mrs. Meena Patel sang bhajan of Shivji. Vice president Shree Rohit Joshi greeted Dr. Ashish Patel by presenting him flowers. Dr. Ashish Patel (Horizon Medical Center, Schaumburg,) talked on Diabetes and Heart Related Problems. He explained about diabetes, who are prone to diabetes, about types of diabetes and the range of Sugar in blood as a measure of diabetes. Most importantly, he described the precautions to prevent diabetes. He mainly focused on exercise and walk everyday 30 minutes. He also explained about cholesterol, Blood pressure and Heart problems, and how you can reduce Heart ailments. At the end, he answered questions of the members and gave them preventive advise.
United Senior Pariwar also celebrated members’ birthdays falling in the month of February and offered them packets of sweets as a sweet gesture. Vice President Shree Rohit Joshi spoke on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri and its significance.
Dr Ashish Patel and President Shree Ramesh Chokshi performed pooja of Shivji and offered Abhishek on Shivling along with an aarti. After that, all members prayed and offered Abhishek on Shivling.
Thereafter, all the members enjoyed delicious Kathiyawadi lunch catered by Swaminarayan Mandir, Wheeling.
In the end, all members offered Shradhanjli to Smt. Shardaben Patel (wife of Shree Haribhai Patel, President of Bhartiya Seniors of Chicago) who passed away on February 12, 2025, at Ahmedabad, India along with Shree Ohm Prakashji Kamaria (Husband of Smt. Usha Kamaria, member of Advisory Committee) who passed away on 20th January at Glenview, IL.
