Coventry University Group has officially inaugurated its new India Hub in New Delhi, a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing partnerships and fostering collaboration between the UK and India. Located at HT House in Connaught Place, opposite the British Council, the hub will support various functions including recruitment, admissions, and research initiatives. Approximately 70 staff members will be employed at this facility to facilitate these efforts.
The launch event was attended by Coventry’s Vice-Chancellor and Group CEO, Professor John Latham CBE, along with officials from both the UK and Indian governments. The gathering highlighted the importance of strengthening academic and industry ties between the two nations. Professor Latham emphasized that the hub is integral to expanding Coventry’s global presence and creating collaboration opportunities in key sectors such as aviation and healthcare.
The hub will streamline processes for Indian students seeking admission to Coventry University, making it easier for them to access quality education. It aims to foster joint research projects with Indian institutions, building on existing collaborations with notable partners such as IIT Ropar and Vellore Institute of Technology. The hub will facilitate connections between Coventry University and Indian industries, promoting knowledge exchange and collaborative projects. By encouraging student exchanges and joint programs, the hub seeks to enrich educational experiences for both UK and Indian students.
The establishment of the India Hub reflects Coventry University’s commitment to aligning its strategic initiatives with India’s national priorities. Leena Kukreja, Regional Managing Director of Coventry University Group’s India Hub, stated that this initiative is expected to drive measurable global impact for decades.
Michael Houlgate from the British Council praised the initiative as a catalyst for deeper UK-India collaboration. The hub features a minimalist corporate design scheme created by interior architecture and design students from Coventry University. This design incorporates traditional patterns reflective of Indian culture alongside elements linked to Coventry University’s branding.
The launch of India Hub is part of a broader strategy by Coventry University Group to establish international hubs worldwide. The India Hub is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing Coventry’s international presence while providing unique academic opportunities for students from both countries.
