India and Singapore are set to enhance their educational collaboration, focusing on curriculum development and internship opportunities. During a recent meeting in Singapore, Indian Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong discussed initiatives to strengthen ties in school education and vocational training.
The collaboration aims to leverage Singapore’s expertise in education, particularly in technology and innovation. Key areas of focus include developing joint curriculum frameworks and facilitating overseas internships for Indian students in Singaporean companies, providing them with valuable practical experience.
Pradhan emphasized the importance of building competencies for future generations through skills-based education. He highlighted potential partnerships between India’s National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and Singapore’s National Institute of Education, aiming to enhance pedagogy and teacher training.
The discussions also included fostering academic research collaborations in fields such as deep tech, healthcare, and advanced materials. This partnership aligns with India’s National Education Policy 2020, which emphasizes quality education access and internationalization.
Overall, this initiative reflects a growing commitment between India and Singapore to cultivate a robust educational ecosystem that prepares students for the challenges of the future.
