Grammy-winning icons Zakir Hussain, Rakesh Chaurasia, Bela Fleck, and Edgar Meyer, have announced the ‘As We Speak India tour.’
Scheduled for January 2025, this multi-city tour will have a fusion of Indian classical music and Western jazz. The tour will visit Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and New Delhi.
The quartet’s performance will showcase their collective virtuosity, having garnered 31 prestigious Grammy Awards.
Tabla maestro Zakir Hussain expressed his excitement about returning to his homeland to perform with such incredible musicians. “This concert is a celebration of the universal language of music, exploring the common ground between Indian classical and Western jazz.”
Bela Fleck, the renowned banjo legend, shared his fascination with Indian classical music and enthusiasm for performing in India. Double bass virtuoso Edgar Meyer looks forward to exploring connections between Indian classical and Western jazz, inspiring new conversations about music’s universal language.
Acclaimed flautist Rakesh Chaurasia hopes to inspire young musicians and fans to explore India’s rich musical traditions.
