The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards 2024 took place on September 28 at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, marking the third consecutive year the glamorous event has been hosted in the UAE capital. This year’s ceremony celebrated the best of Indian cinema, showcasing spectacular performances and honoring outstanding achievements in film.
The evening was a star-studded affair, with Bollywood’s elite walking the green carpet. Among the notable attendees were Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Hema Malini, Kriti Sanon, and Rekha. The event was co-hosted by Khan, director Karan Johar, and actor Vicky Kaushal, who kept the audience entertained with their charisma and energy. Performances by popular artists like Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor, and Shahid Kapoor added to the night’s excitement.
The highlight of the night was undoubtedly Shah Rukh Khan’s win for Best Actor for his role in Jawan, a film that has garnered massive box office success. Rani Mukerji also shone brightly, taking home the Best Actress award for her powerful performance in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, where she portrayed a mother battling for her children against overwhelming odds.
The prestigious Best Film award went to Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The film’s producer Bhushan Kumar accepted the honor on behalf of the team, celebrating its critical and commercial acclaim.
