Agatsya Goel makes the Indian American Community Proud by clinching second Gold Medal at International Olympiad

Agastya Goel bagged his second gold medal at the recently concluded

International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI). He  is the son of Stanford. Stanford University professor Ashish Goel, and he scored 438.97 out of 600 to win the gold medal in the programming competition.

China’s Kangyang Zhou secured the top spot with a whopping 600 out of 600.

The 36th IOI was held in Egypt this year from September 1 to September 8.

what is often regarded as the world’s most difficult programming competition for high school students, Agastya finished at the fourth spot overall. Top young brains from across the globe come together for this esteemed event to demonstrate their computational thinking and problem-solving abilities.

This year’s International Olympiad in Informatics saw 34 students win gold medals, including Kshitij Sodani of India, who finished in the 21st spot.

The father, Ashish Goel, is well known as the topper of IIT JEE 1990 had a successful career with businesses like Twitter and Stripe.

Agastya is a junior at Gunn High School. In his free time, he sings, plays tennis, and always wins the card game Coup.
