Three Indian American lawmakers support Kamala Harris as Democratic presidential nominee

US Vice President intends to “earn and win” Democratic presidential nomination

After the political earthquake announcement by Biden to not seek re-election and endorse Kamala Harris for the Democratic Presidential nomination, all five Indian-American lawmakers have praised President Joe Biden’s historic decision. Most importantly, three of them endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party’s likely presidential nominee.

Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal on Sunday endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the ruling Democratic Party’s presidential nominee, thus being the first among the five Indian American lawmakers to do so. “Kamala Harris for President. Let’s beat Donald Trump and make history,” Jayapal said in a post on social media throwing her full support to Harris.

Praising US Vice President Kamala Harris for her work, Indian-American Congressman Shri Thanedar said that she is a tough lady and has done an outstanding job as senator, adding that he thinks Harris will be a great President.

Thanedar said that he looks forward to working with Kamala Harris as the next President of the US. He said Harris cares deeply about democratic issues like protecting a woman’s rights or protecting workers’ rights and creating economic opportunities.

Praising Biden for his work, Thanedar called him “one of the most pro-worker presidents and pro-choice presidents.”

Indian-American Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi has expressed gratitude to US President Joe Biden for his service to the nation for over 50 years after he announced not to seek re-election. He termed Biden’s announcement a “political earthquake.”

Raja Krishnamoorthi has expressed confidence that Kamala Harris will receive tremendous support. He called Kamala Harris a “formidable contender” for the Democratic presidential nomination. He said that the decision regarding the presidential nominee would be taken in a convention set to take place in Chicago.

Meanwhile, Kamala Harris stated that she is “honored” to have President Joe Biden’s endorsement, US Vice President Kamala Harris said on Sunday that she “intends to earn and win” the Democratic Party’s nomination for the November presidential polls.

Earlier in the day, after announcing his decision to not seek re-election, Biden endorsed Harris as the presidential nominee for the Democratic Party and called on Democrats to “come together and beat” Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
