‘Rock Goddess’ from India gets a standing ovation on America’s Got Talent

Maya Neelakantan, the 11-year-old guitar prodigy from Chennai, India has taken the world by storm with her jaw-dropping performance on America’s Got Talent June 25th audition episode. In a stunning blend of musical genres, she seamlessly transitioned between Carnatic music and heavy metal, leaving the four judges and viewers awestruck. The standing ovation on her live performance was followed by an emphatic ‘Yes’ from all the judges for Maya to move to the next round.

Her rendition of Papa Roach’s “Last Resort” showcased her unique fusion of Indian influences with rock classics. The interplay between aggressive guitar melodies and traditional Carnatic elements earned her a loud cheer from the audience and judges, including Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Sofia Vergara.

Maya’s talent transcends borders, and her performance on America’s Got Talent has rightfully earned her the title of a ‘rock goddess’ from Simon Cowell.
