Shree Jalaram Mandir located in Hoffman Estates, IL organized its annual Health Fair on Sunday, May 19, 2024. The annual Health Fair was held with a specific goal to help community members and devotees who needed medical help but could not afford to pay. The event was a great success with about 302 people taking advantage of various medical services.
Medical Services offered were Physician’s consultation, Dental Examination, EKG consultation by a Cardiologist, Physical Therapy, Diet/Nutrition consultation, Ayurvedic consultation and Foot scan. In addition, various tests were performed for each participant such as Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar, Laboratory tests like Complete Blood Count, Chem Profile, Lipid Profile, TSH and HGA1C, Urinalysis, and Bone Density.
The Health Fair was partially supported by local vendors and the Lohan Association of Greater Chicago. Shree Jalaram Mandir committee members worked hard to maintain participants’ smooth flow and ensure their safety. The Mandir Kitchen team offered Tea, Coffee and light breakfast to all the beneficiaries.
The success of this event was credited to health care and non-health care volunteers who despite their busy schedules provided service. About 6 physicians, 2 cardiologists, 2 dentists, and close to 75-80 volunteers participated in this annual event.
The health fair coordinators Jayantibhai Thakkar and Bakul Thakkar expressed gratefulness to the community members and devotees who came and took advantage of much-needed services. A special thanks to the Health Fair committee and Shree Jalaram Mandir committee members who put together the total plan and resources needed to make this event a great success.
