On Sunday morning, two unidentified persons opened fire outside Salman Khan’s Bandra residence. Briefing media persons on the incident, Mumbai Police said the incident appeared to be meticulously planned, as the accused had their faces covered under helmets as they arrived at the scene on a two-wheeler.

After the firing incident outside Salman Khan’s residence, several celebrities and his family members paid a visit to his house. Shilpa Shetty and her mother also visited his house. In the video, Shilpa can be seen arriving in her car along with her mother.

The Mumbai Crime Branch officials said on Wednesday that the individuals involved in the firing incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s Bandra residence “intended to just scare him and not murder him.”

“The accused conducted a ‘recce’ of Salman Khan’s farmhouse in Panvel. They intended to just scare him, not murder him. The statements of both families have been recorded in Bihar. Around 7 people have been called from Haryana and other states for questioning, which is ongoing,” said a Mumbai Crime Branch official.

Meanwhile, sources confirmed that the Mumbai Crime Branch will record Salman Khan’s statement as a witness in the case related to the firing outside his Bandra residence.

Upon the arrival of Mumbai Police officials at Salman Khan’s house following the incident, the actor reportedly expressed anger and concern about his family’s security. He also raised questions about the security provided by Mumbai Police, saying that such an incident took place despite the heavy deployment of security personnel at his place, sources said.

Earlier, the Mumbai Crime Branch disclosed that the perpetrators had conducted a reconnaissance of the actor’s residence before carrying out the attack. Moments before the shooting, the assailants parked a motorcycle approximately 100 metres away from Salman Khan’s residence at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra.

After confirming the absence of individuals outside Khan’s house, the shooters approached the premises on the motorcycle and opened fire before fleeing the scene.

In another development, the Mumbai Police filed a case against Anmol Bishnoi in connection with the firing incident, citing his use of threatening language on Facebook. Anmol Bishnoi, who is the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, wrote about the firing incident on Facebook and used threatening language, police said.

Furthermore, two suspects were arrested by the Kachchh police and handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch for investigation. Subsequently, Mumbai’s Killa Court remanded the two accused, identified as Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21) from Bihar, to the custody of the Mumbai Crime Branch until April 25, following a medical examination.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met superstar Salman Khan at the latter’s Bandra residence on Tuesday. The meeting came close on the heels of the firing incident outside the actor’s upscale Galaxy Apartments, last Sunday.

During the visit, CM Shinde assured Salman and his family members of tight security cover in light of the firing incident. “I met Salman Khan and assured him that the government is with him. I have also directed the police to take immediate action in the matter. The two accused persons in the matter have been arrested and are being questioned for leads,” CM Shinde told media persons after meeting the superstar.

Vowing to wipe out the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which is alleged to have had a hand in the incident, the ruling Shiv Sena supremo brought up the crackdown on the underworld, saying, “There are gangs left in Maharashtra anymore. We will uproot all the gangs and goons. Goons will not be allowed to run their writ here. The arrested accused are being interrogated…no one will be spared. I have also directed the commissioner of police to provide additional security for Salman Khan and his family. It is our duty to take care of our people. I don’t want to comment on what happened during the previous government, but we will act decisively against all the gangs and goons who try to bring harm to anyone in the state,” CM Shinde added.

Veteran screenwriter and Salman’s father, Salim Khan, former MLA Baba Siddiqui, his son and MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui and Yuva Sena’s Rahul Kanal were also present during the meeting.
