HindiUSA and Maan Hindi Pariwar ( माँ हिन्दी परिवार) unite for Transcontinental Kids Poetry Contest

HindiUSA, in collaboration with Maan Hindi Pariwar (माँ हिन्दी परिवार)  proudly orchestrated a riveting Kids Poetry Contest that transcended geographical boundaries and united young talents from India and the United States. Held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, the event witnessed a harmonious fusion of poetic brilliance from 30 contestants, comprising 15 students aged between 9 and 14 from each country.

The air resonated with the mellifluous verses of renowned poets such as  Harvanshrai  Bachhan, Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, Nirala, Kamlesh Sharma ji, Kavita Tiwari, and many more, as the contestants from both nations captivated audiences with their recitations. Despite the physical distance, the event transcended borders through live streaming on YouTube and Zoom, reaching thousands of viewers worldwide.

Fifteen talented participants from the USA, representing states such as NJ, CT, MD, MA, and Canada, showcased their poetic prowess alongside their counterparts from esteemed schools across India, spanning Telangana, Delhi, J&K, Kerala, Rajasthan, Haryana, UP, Mumbai, and more.

The contest, adjudicated by five esteemed judges – three from India and two from the USA, culminated in the recognition of three exceptional winners: First Place – Avni Rana  from Shriram Shiksha Mandir School, Delhi; Second Place – Dhriti NSM School, Ville Parle, Mumbai, MH and Third Place –  Manika Shukla (APJ School, Greater Noida, UP.

Numerous participants received consolation prizes, celebrating their remarkable contributions to the event’s success.

Graced by the presence of esteemed officials from the Government of India, including Umesh Joshi, Dr. Ranjit Singh, and Shri Raghubir Sharma from the Home Department, the event received blessings and well-wishes for its future endeavors.

The initiative aimed to foster a deeper appreciation for Hindi language and cultural values among children from both nations, fostering mutual understanding and camaraderie. HindiUSA and Maan Hindi Pariwar pledge to continue organizing such events with diverse themes in the future, nurturing cross-cultural exchange and harmony.

A heartfelt vote of thanks was extended by Shri Devendra Singh and Rachita Singh, founders of HindiUSA, along with Dr. Pankaj Sahil, founder of Maan Hindi Pariwar, a New Delhi-based organization dedicated to promoting Hindi.
