Sunita Kejriwal speaks at INDIA bloc rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan

Wife of Arvind Kejriwal, arrested Chief Minister of Delhi, Sunita Kejriwal participated in a massive rally organized at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan. The INDIA bloc rally was attended by Opposition leaders including Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, Nationalist Congress Party (SCP) chief Sharad Pawar, Former JK CM and JK NC leader Farooq Abdullah, PDP chief Mehboob Mufti. where Sunita Kejriwal read out a message sent by her jailed husband. She read out six guarantees that Arvind Kejriwal wrote in jail.

“First, there will be no power cuts across the country. Second, electricity for the poor across the nation will be free. Third, every village will have a good school where children from all sections of society will get quality education. Fourth, every village will have a mohalla clinic, and every zilla will have a government multi-speciality hospital. Fifth, farmers will get good minimum support price as per the Swaminathan report. And sixth, the people of Delhi have been treated unfairly for many years. We will end this injustice. The people of Delhi will get statehood,” Sunita Kejriwal said.

She also said that Arvind Kejriwal wrote this in jail and could not sought permission of other leaders of India bloc. Arvind Kejriwal, his former deputy Manish Sisodia, and Sanjay Singh are in the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) custody over alleged money laundering in the now-scrapped Delhi liquor policy.

Kalpana Soren, the wife of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who is currently in jail, also attended the rally.

Referring to the arrests of Kejriwal and former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, Rahul Gandhi said: “Two players from our team have been arrested before the match.”

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) slammed the INDIA bloc over its ‘Loktantra Bachao’ rally against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, saying the Opposition wanted to safeguard dynasty politics and corruption, not democracy.
