DCP Central M Harsh Vardhan informed, “We have especially addressed the security concerns around the court. Section 144 is imposed on DD Marg because it is not a designated protest site. Section 144 is imposed because there are a lot of vital offices here.”

Water cannons and paramilitary forces are deployed on the DDU road, which leads to the BJP headquarters. The ITO Metro station will stay shut during 8 am-6 pm today on the advice of Delhi Police.

AAP protestors, including minster Saurabh Bhardwaj marched towards ITO metro station, and the ITO redlight has been completed blocked. According to latest update, AAP Delhi Ministers Saurabh Bharadwaj and Atishi have been taken away by police at ITO amid the protests.

A three-judge Supreme Court bench, led by Justice Sanjiv Khanna, will take up Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s plea against his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) soon.

The ED probe team turned up at Mr Kejriwal’s home last evening with a search warrant after he skipped nine summonses by the central agency. Later in the day, the Delhi High Court refused to grant him protection from arrest. “We have moved the Supreme Court for quashing the arrest of Delhi CM @ArvindKejriwal by ED. We have asked for an urgent hearing by the Supreme Court tonight itself,” Atishi, AAP leader and Delhi minister, said in a post on X.

It is the first time in India that a serving Chief Minister has been arrested.
