Indo-American Festivals, Inc (IAF) is thrilled to announce the eagerly anticipated 26th annual Dushahra Festival, set to take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Lake Papaianni Park in Edison, NJ. In the event of inclement weather, the rain date is scheduled for October 12, 2024.

Since its inception, the Dushahra Festival has captivated audiences with its vibrant celebration of the triumph of good over evil. Drawing on rich cultural traditions, the festival has become a cornerstone event in the Indo-American community, attracting tens of thousands of attendees each year.

Guests can look forward to an array of festivities, including the iconic Grand Ramleela, showcasing the timeless tale of Lord Rama’s victory over the demon king Ravana. Mesmerizing cultural performances will enchant audiences, while a diverse selection of ethnic food and delicacies will tantalize taste buds.

The festival also boasts a bustling marketplace, featuring local and international vendors offering unique products and services. Attendees can explore a variety of goods, from traditional handicrafts to modern innovations.

As the day draws to a close, spectators will gather for the spectacular finale: the burning of a towering 25-foot effigy of Ravana, accompanied by a dazzling fireworks display.

The success of the Dushahra Festival is made possible through the generous support of Middlesex County and the Township of Edison. The Middlesex County Board of County Commissioners provides a significant grant to IAF, enabling the organization to offer this event free of charge to the public.

Indo-American Festivals, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer-based organization dedicated to serving the community since 1999.
