Tragic death of Vivek Taneja in US, Police offers reward of $25,000 for homicide suspect

In a tragic series of events, another Indian-origin executive, 41-year-old Vivek Taneja died in the US, merely days after he was fatally assaulted in an altercation outside a restaurant in downtown Washington.

As per investigators, police officers responded to the 1100 block of 15th Street Northwest outside Shoto Restaurant around 2 am for an assault on February 2. As officers arrived, they found Vivek Taneja on the pavement with life-threatening injuries and he was rushed to the hospital.

As per preliminary investigation reports it is found that Taneja and an unknown man were involved in a verbal argument that turned physical and Taneja was knocked to the ground, hitting his head on the pavement.

Police are investigating Taneja’s death as a homicide and searching for the man who was captured on surveillance camera with a reward of up to $25,000 being offered by police to anyone who can provide information that leads to arrest of suspect(s) involved in the homicide committed.

Taneja was the cofounder and president of Dynamo Technologies. On February 7, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
