Jasmin Patel, Associate Vice President for Research and Chief of Staff to the Vice President for Research and Partnerships at St. Louis University, has been named a St. Louis Business Journal 40 Under 40 for 2023.
“It’s an honor to be nominated and selected – it was quite a surprise,” Patel said. “It is also a responsibility to continue to work hard to make an impact and to support and mentor others.
The annual list to be published in the Nov. 3 issue of the Business Journal, recognizes 40 emerging St. Louis-area business leaders under the age of 40 who are highly engaged with the St. Louis community. Patel will be recognized at the 40 Under 40 celebration at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2, at the Marriott St. Louis Grand.
Patel has been with SLU since 2016. She was selected from a field of more than 350 nominations.
“I came to SLU because of the amazing research already happening here and the potential for growth,” said Patel.
“I really like the ways in which the Jesuit mission can have an impact on everyone here, regardless of your own background or beliefs,” she said. “I think that this creates a community that comes together for each other in times of need, and this is something I have seen time and time again at SLU,” Patel added.
Born in Manchester in the United Kingdom, Patel earned her bachelor of science degree in Speech and Hearing Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She then earned her MBA from the University of Chicago.
