Japanese auto major Honda Motor Company is revolutionizing the way mobility is going to drive the future by investing heavily in new technologies such as autonomous driving and generative AI as Honda aspires to enable people to “transcend various constraints such as time and place,” and to “augment their abilities and possibilities,” company’s President and Representative Toshihiro Mibe said on Wednesday.
At the Japan Mobility Show 2023 in Tokyo, Mibe unveiled the autonomous vehicle Cruise Origin, and together with GM and Cruise, Honda is planning to launch a driverless ride-hailing service using the vehicle in Japan in early 2026, along with ‘Honda CI-MEV’ self-driving micro-mobility vehicle to augment the living radius for many people who find walking and driving difficult.
In addition, the company also unveiled the Prelude Concept, an electric sports car, which he said, “will become the prelude for our future models which will inherit the joy of driving” for all sports car lovers.
